The changes seem essentially cosmetic, but I'd beinterested to hear opinions from owners.

1.A traditional camera feel is portrayed with black leather-tone coating
2.A leather-like design is also used on the grip for excellent texture
3.The main dial and sub-dial have been refined for improved design and operability

I think the only pro part is the 12-40 it's paired with, otherwise cosmetics seem to be the only difference.

I also think they have tougher paint (flakes)

...

Ok, but I have a solution. You take my E-M5 and give me your E-M1 :)

(I just put on a grip on it to make it feel like the E-M1)

...

How come you don't like the form factor, the grip?

Danny,
I don't have E-M1 (not yet)
I tried the E-M1 and I'm not convinced, so...
Aha ok. I realized a benefit having the grip. On travelling I can remove it to make it small again but at home it's nice with grip on.

Take a look at the E-M10 also, almost like the E-M5 but cheaper

Sounds like a black E-M5 with the silver's grip wrapping...the one on the original black one has a scratchy feeling. I have both, and I prefer the feel of the silver grip.
