I was wondering if it is possible to disable the WIFI on the E-M5 Mark ii? I don't use the WIFI and was thinking that doing that might reduce power usage?

I've looked around in the menus, and don't see any way to do that.

It probably works like my Pen F: Wrench menu->Wi-Fi settings->Wi-Fi Connect Settings->Off

To my knowledge you won't save any power, as Wi-fi only activates/draws charge when you turn it on (ie tap the tiny Wi-fi icon on the LCD).

Deactivating the mode means you won't be able to, of course, so you'll save power in a roundabout way. But Wi-fi never runs in the background or anything, so in practical terms it won't really affect battery life.

  4. It depends if they've actually got the menu option set to put the chip into hard reset (no current draw) instead of deep sleep (some current draw).
