I recently lent my E-M5 to a friend, and when I got it back, my number of AF points had changed from the usual 7x5 to a paltry 3x3. He has no idea what he did to achieve this, and I can't find a menu setting to change it back. Does anyone know how to fix this? My camera is running firmware 1.6.

    This works for me:

    1) Left Arrow to open up the AF menu
    2) INFO to show additional AF options
    3) Use the Up/Down Arrows until the highlighted AF points are back to normal.

That only changes the number of selected AF points. My problem is that I only have 9 AF points available to choose from.

This seems to be the answer.
Try turning off Digital Teleconverter, which should be on the first page of the menu.
