    Hi, All.

I recently bought an Oly E-M10 as a convenient carry-around camera. I have noticed that whenever it is turned on, it makes a 'white noise' sound continuously. I thought at first that it might be the image stabilization hardware, but I turned that off on both the lens and in the camera, but I can still hear it. Is this normal? Does anyone know what causes it? Thanks.

It's the IBIS - all the Oly cameras do it. Don't worry! You still hear it with IBIS off since the sensor is always floating in a magnetic field, whether it's being actively moved or not.

Thanks for the info, Paul. I hadn't realized that IBIS is still doing something even when IS is turned off. I really appreciate you giving me the answer so quickly.
