I didn't notice this when I first started using my 10 on Friday.

When I select manual on the mode dial the screen and EVF gets very dark and makes it hard to see to use and take pictures...

Has anyone else noticed this and is it normal?

That's because your current settings in M mode makes your picture underexposed.

If you don't want to see the under/over exposure on the screen, there is an option in menu D, 2d page, "Live view boost".
    Select on.

I put it on because I use flash in M mode.

I also use a flash in M mode.

Thanks, that did the trick. It was kicking my butt..
