    Hi Folks,

I've been trying to download firmware update V1.2 for my new E-M10. Olympus UK, US and Global websites all say that this is the latest version (dated November 2014) and I need to download Olympus Camera Updater V1.3 to update. The problem is that the download links from all the various websites point to OCU V1.2, which will not work with the E-M10 (btw, I wouldn't use a firmware intended for a different product region, I'm just checking if the problem is with Olympus Uk or global).

The camera shipped with V1.1 and according to the update notes, V1.2 improves performance when used with the 40-150 f/2.8 Pro. I don't have this lens and don't expect to buy it any time in the foreseeable future, but I like to get the newest update into my tech devices before I spend time getting the setup right. I'm just wondering if anyone actually has firmware V1.2 in their E-M10?

Thanks Plumballs, did you get it from an Olympus website? I'm wondering if its just a temporary problem with their site.

I downloaded V1.2 firmware to my E-M10 several months ago, using V1.2 of Olympus Camera Updater. I didn't even know there was a V1.3 of Updater - are you sure this is necessary? I had no issues using V1.2.

Thanks Alan. When I try to use OCU V1.2, it says it cannot work with this camera. I'm sure I read that V1.3 is needed on one of the international sites but I may have got that wrong. I'll backtrack through the sites and check.

Sorted! The card in the camera was formatted in my EPM1, I'd only deleted the files off using Windows. I just formatted the card in the E-M10 and it updated fine with OCU V1.2.

Thanks once again for your input here. I'll maybe go out and take some photos now :2thumbs:

Edit: Nope, going out to take photos didn't happen. The wife wanted to go shopping and then her folks needed me to do some techie stuff for them. Oh well, tomorrow is another day, or maybe the day after, or maybe the day after that!!

Are there any benefits of 1.2 for those without 40-150? I own an EM10 but not that keen on updating if it doesn't offer anything else

The release notes indicate that improved focusing on the 40-150 is the only change. I think it's likely that there will be a 1.3 update for their new pro lenses.

Sometimes minor bug fixes are not documented so I tend to use the latest firmware at the time of purchase. It's just one of my OCD things.
