Hi fellas,

I'm new to the site and recently picked up a GF1 and am a big fan. However, I've noticed dust particles and a small piece of hair stuck INSIDE the LCD. Is there a way I can open the LCD up and spray it with some compressed air? Or should I take it to Panasonic?

Gracias

I don't wish to belittle your knowledge of the camera but make sure you are not looking at the LCD through some aftermarket protector that has been applied on top of the lcd screen. Some are so good that they look like the camera came that way. Most of those are removable with the application of a "tiny" bit of heat and perhaps some thin fishing line. However it might be better to take it to a camera shop and get their opinion.

picture of the screen. All the dust is UNDER the LCD. I've taken the protector off from the box and replaced it with another. Then I took that aftermarket one off too and found these particles and that piece of hair under it.

Try the old hair dryer trick.
Force the warm air around the screen. See if the dust/hair moves at all.
If you see it move then you know air is moving in...
Then switch to a vacuum cleaner to suck the stuff out.
That might work.
