Despite warnings of rain and possible snow, my lady Sharon and I took a trip up to Durango, Colorado this past weekend to spend a bit of time on the Durango and Silverton Railroad. In the past we have made this trip on our motorcycle but due to the weather warnings, this time we drove the car. During the weekend we chased both #480 and #486. Here is a brief video Sharon shot of Durango and Silverton #480 as it makes it way from Durango up to Silverton. We first see the consist leaving downtown Durango then we caught the train at various crossings. We raced it to Hermosa then see it coming around the bend as it entered Rockwood. In the final scene we see some smoke in the distance, hear it whistling through the Silverton station and make it's way around the bend and head into the town of Silverton. While I was off to one side or another shooting stills, this video was shot hand held by my lady Sharon with a camera she had never used before of the railroad she has really grown to love. For best viewing set this video to HD.

Not true, I'm not a member of Facebook and viewed it. I wasn't able to turn on HD but that might be my crazy iMac computer.

Nice video. Your cute lady did a good job.

    Like it!
But at first I thought the sound and video was crappy, then Steve mentioned HD in his post and I viewed it again now with HD settings, what a difference!

Must put Durango on my bucket list.

    Thanks!

YEP! That's why I noted at the bottom of my post to watch it in HD. That also applies to the Youtube version

Hmm, it seems that reading everything in a post is a good thing to do.
But the good thing is that I learned something new today!
