I gotta stop clicking on those 12-35 image samples and comparisons.

Even if I sell my 14-42, 14mm and 9-18, that's still only about $700. Just barely more than 1/2 the price of the 12-35

    Just do it !
You know you want it !!

.....and besides, top lenses always hold their value better so consider it an investment.

If you're going to buy it in the future, buy it now.

Exactly. If you know you'll end up buying it, might as well buy it now and get more use out of it thus giving you more value for money

Are you really parting with the 9-18? Is that the native version that you have?

You could always look at the 12-60/12-35 image comparisons. See what you get for more than 2x the cost (secondhand)!

(Of course, you might just end up grumpy about Olympus's decision to stop designing high zoom lenses, as I did).

But isn't the 12-60 pretty darn big and heavy? Also, it'd be slower to AF than the 12-35, no?

edit: never mind. Found this https://www.mu-43.com/f38/panasonic-12-35-vs-olympus-12-60-a-27689/#post269459

Oh let me know if you sell the 14 and the 9-18! Those are the last two lenses on my list!

All true, but none of that is visible from the samples!

Not saying I wouldn't love to have a 12-35 price aside... But paying 2.5x the price I paid for the 12-60 for half the range and no visible IQ advantage is a bitter pill to swallow.

I too kept looking at that blasted lens. Was really hoping Oly would have at least announced a native 12-60-ish lens. As it is, I passed up (actually
hesitated a bit too long) a good deal on the 12-35 here from another member, then 2 days ago, amazon had a bunch in stock. Ordered one yesterday and will have it Monday, just in time for our trip to Scotland on Tuesday :)

Now I just have to find the right justification for the boss. Guess I'm going to have to sell more of my Pentax gear...... (any takers?)

This image I shot with a GH2 still surprises me... see that little tiny word on the label at the bottom of the Glenlivet bottle, under George Smith's signature... "Founder"

    P1020771.

here's a crop of the above image, showing how that tiny detail came through, close to the corner of the len's imaging area, no less.
    P1020771-2.

While the 12-35 isn't inexpensive, the lens is a great performer, putting it roughly in prime country, but with 24-70mm equivalent range.
