I was experimenting with my old Minolta 70-210 and an inexpensive adapter on my e-m1. Everything was working fine and I was enjoying myself. I added my Tokina 2X and focus peaking stopped working, or maybe more accurately, if it was still working it was impossible to discern.

    What do you think?

What is the aperture of the 70-210? A 2X TC drops the aperture two stops, which may not have left the camera enough light to properly discern contrast.

Another possibility is that the lens with the TC was too soft to properly detect contrast.

    The lens is constant F4.

So with the TC, that is a much softer f8.0.
