On most, but not all shots, I am getting two pictures of the same scene when I press the shutter button. Why I am I getting these double images?

If the camera is set to record RAW+JPEG, then you're supposed to get two pictures of the same scene for all shots.

    Double Pic answer

Found the answer: I accidentally set the sequential shooting button. I didn't realize this setting allows multiple shots even though I am in S-AF mode. By holding down the shutter button a bit longer than usual, I was getting multiple shots.
