Hi everyone  First up, I'm not after general bag advice! If the below doesn't exist then I'll just get a Retrospective 5... So, does anyone know a compact DOMKE shoulder bag that can fit the following: - 1x GH2 - 2-3 lenses (generally I carry the Lumix 7-14, Nokton 25mm and m.ZD 45mm - I never carry more than this) - a couple of batteries and cards - A5 Moleskine notebook - 1x iPad? I currently use a Domke F-10 for the above, minus the iPad, and I absolutely love it. I've owned a few Domke's before and I'm pretty keen to get another, but the Tiffen/Domke website is shocking and there's no local stockist so I can't go and have a look myself Thanks in advance
You might want to check this... Domke F-803 This is currently the bag I am using on a daily basis going to work (and when going on photoshoot on streets).
Thanks for the suggestion. I should've mentioned that the other Domke I own is an F-802 (same as the 803 but without the internals) - it's big enough for my 15" MacBook Pro which makes it a fair bit bigger than what I'm looking for
Yes its shocking I know I recently bought a Fossil Estate messenger bag and quite pleased with it. Maybe a bit smaller than your requirement but it does have a ipad sleeve. It is worth a look, but the retrospective looks good too.
I have a friend that uses a Domke f3x. It fits a Canon 5d and 85 1.2 lens and a iPad. It should fit the GH2 and the smaller lenses easily. I ended up buying a F5xa and fit that into a timbuk2 freestyle. Nice thing about dedicated iPad bags is that they suspend the iPad so when you set it down on the ground there is less of a shock.
that is the one i use too, the back pocket is close to a perfect fit for the ipad so you wont get much smaller, a bit thinner is possible but not much.
No PM, he has to tell me too. For what it is worth, I use the f3x, but find my iPad to be just a tad big for the bag. It fits, but I would like a better fit.
He uses this bag. http://www.crumpler.com/us/Camera-B...r-Home.html?LanguageCode=EN&SKU=MD3002-U04P30 Won't work, won't hold the OP's iPad or Moleskin. Back on topic, if you want a sling bag. This will fit. http://www.tiffen.com/displayproduct.html?tablename=domke&itemnum=703-12B The medium will definitely fit, the small might be pushing it.
I think I may have taken your advice before (a few times), so I guess you'd better tell us  **edit** If it's really a Crumpler I may even block you...
The F-802 is bigger Exterior Dimensions: 15.5"W x 5"D x 13"H Interior Dimensions: 14.5"W x 3"D x 12"H F-802 REPORTER'S SATCHEL/SAND F-803 Exterior Dimensions: 13.5"W x 3.5"D x 10"H Interior Dimensions: 12"W x 3"D x 9"H F-803 CAMERA SATCHEL/SAND
I have a Domke F-803 and will tell you what I put in it... - Panasonic G3 - P14mm, P20mm, P14-42mm, Oly45mm, P45-200mm - Nissin Di466, 2 sets of AA batteries - business card holder - LensPen, Lens cloth, - extra SD card - other small misc. things. - Motorola Xoom 10" tablet in rear pocket. If packed right, this bag can hold a surprising number of things. By packed well, I mean some lenses are stacked and my primes are attached via a home made double sided cap (two Oly rear caps mated together). I love the bag for all my gear, but love my F-5XB for half my gear more. Hope this helps.
The Domke F5xb will fit an iPad if you don't use the zipper, you can remove the zipper and use the flap to close the case if you are worried about scratching. Your iPad will be somewhat in the elements. Though.
Crumpler. Hah. No way. (I actually have some crumpler...) No it's this Hadley Camera Bags - Billingham I have the Pro but the smaller should also work. I carry it with me every day as my normal everything bag. Now these aren't cheap, but they're once in a lifetime.. I have three Billingham bags. One of them (the most used one) is over 10 years old and hardly has a mark on it. They're completely rainproof, and like the Domke, have just the right padding, are comfortable to wear and don't scream camera bag. There's the rest and there's the best. Nick. Foto Riesel in Sydney bring them in. Ask for Mark Quenen and tell him my name. He knows me well. Gordon
The smaller should work if he only had an iPad, but I don't think an iPad and a Moleskin notepad will fit. Smaller would be my ideal bag, I don't really like the velcro on the Domke f5 series anyway but $200 is a big hard to swallow.
I just bought one of these F-5XZ LARGE SHOULDER BAG-RUGGEDWEAR yet to give it a work out... but has a slip picket at the back that takes an iPad I just wanted something that would take a couple of lenses and a body at a pinch will test it out on the beaches of Maui this week..... its a dirty job i Know but somebody has to do it K
