Based on your experience, do you expect to see much of a discount on lenses during the holiday shopping days?

Last year Panasonic had great prices on the PL25, which they appear to have done again this year.

I think you are more likely to find bargains on bodies, especially on Black Friday.

Yes, bodies are always the big ones on sale. Lenses are for people established in a system. Christmas is more about bringing people into that system. However, lenses still see their sales too. It's Christmas. Everything is up for grabs.

In the UK (and elsewhere in Europe) Panasonic, Sony, Canon are all doing cashback offers on cameras and lenses (now until end of the year or early next year), so I am hoping that Olympus will do something similar soon? Did Olympus UK do anything this time last year?

They have the free 45mm lens with the OMD offer of course - which is great if you were buying an OMD but cashback on an E-PL5 or on lenses would be nice too..

Keep a sharp eye on Amazon's goldbox deals! If there is a deal to be had it will be there. Local shops might also have them on sale. As for wide spread sales they will be on bodies more than lenses. Of coarse it doesn't mean they won't also put lenses and accessories on sale too.

If anybody sees a deal post it up!
