Would like to get some member input on this. Please vote and comment.
(bar graphs still not working in FireFox 36 nor Chrome, with the Dark theme)
I voted no, but that is as a reader of the forums. As a seller I could see where I may want that. Honestly I think that should stay in that section and if people want to buy they can visit it.
@barry13 - I've got it on the list
Personally, I think it just clogs things up. If you could somehow select not to see them, then I don't think it would matter.
Is there any way the user could make this choice as part of his preferences?
There is no way to make this user configurable at the present time.
Why don't you just stick it below the Recent Discussions links like you did before? You could probably reduce the Recent Discussions by a third?
@dornblaser - Easy to do. Not sure if anyone looked there, though?
I suspect the Buy & Sell section is secondary for everyone except those who need to sell something. I think that many of us never look at it. While you need to support the Buy & Sell section don't promote it so much that it changes the focus of the site. IMHO.
I vote no. The last thing you want is people bumping their FS/WTB threads multiple times and having them knock down the list actual active discussions. Just my 2 cents.
I voted "no" but I really liked the former way, where discussions were in a top section along the right, and buy/sell in a bottom section along the right. If that's not possible, then I'd vote just to leave them out.
I'd rather see some broad categories in FS/FT. e.g. digital, film, old lenses, or whatever.
Voted No, but I agree a good compromise would be having a separate section under "Recent Discussions" on the side like before.
On a quieter forum it is probably a good way to pad out the number of recent posts, but here there would be too many of them. As it is the Active Discussions list only shows 50 per page which lessens the chance of threads that fall off the first page coming back again.
Not particularly, but I do miss the "deals" section at the top.
I had actually figured out a way on the old site to get the buy& sell threads to come up with new posts... I happened upon good deals on 3 lenses that way.
So, I'd like to be able to keep seeing them, but a separate link on the toolbar to them would be fine.
No no no
I concur with keeping buy/sell/trade posts in separate section to keep main discussions uncluttered. Also agree to make it easier to access b/s/t. I don't just use it for sales, but have picked up items that way too.
Separate names with a comma.
