Camera was working fine. Suddenly we get screen note:

"Please check to see that lens is attached correctly."

No functions, lens seems fine, seems software or system is frozen...

    Commrents or advice?

Clean the electrical contacts on the lens and camera body. Seems a logical place to start.

Pull the battery when you do it.

Okay. cleaned contacts on camera and lens...nada.

So, I grabbed another compatible lens, and same thing, so whatever is happening is in body...has to be hardware, firmware/software problem...unless y'all have suggestion.

Problem is the body involved is daughter-in-law's and seems I am being pinged on it...family stuff.

I might be better off buying another bod.

But, that thing seemed the perfect camera for her...boo-hoo!

Okay body must have problem soft or hard, where do I send? I looked but Pana asks for model number etc, and seems that should not be needed. I do not possess at the moment.
I just sent her a new GX1 from BH, rather than mess with emails etc.

Well, here's one last thought: is the firmware up to date? If it is a soft problem, maybe a complete restart on updated firmware is in order. The lastest version is 1.5 and I just updated my daughter's old G1 yesterday (since I'll be shooting it next weekend) which I got because she has a G3 now. The G1 is my "collectors" camera.

Or, does your post imply it won't do ANYTHING with or without a lens attached? You need to be able to get to "Play" in order to do the firmware update.
