I pulled the trigger- that's lower than used prices.
I really shouldn't have (having spent way too much on this hobby already this year), but I went for it too. I was looking for an UWA lens and this one is the widest...
Thank you for the heads up.
why did I check this .... goodbye $
Dang, just missed it. Might be a good or a bad thing
I'm sure it would have been fun, I didn't pull the trigger either.
My fiancee should know how heroically I fight g.a.s. for her...
Where do you sign up to get notified of these deals? Or if you can't sign up where to you go to find out about the deals?
Deal is off
It's back up to $269 which is still a good price. I can no longer buy expensive items from Amazon because they now charge me our local sales tax which is 10%! B&H doesn't do this yet, thankfully, so for the time being I'll have to stick with them. Of course if Amazon drops the price again the $200, I'd have to give in and pay the $20.
Bummer… wish I had seen this. I was just shopping around a couple days ago for this lens and couldn't quite pull the trigger at full price. At $209 I'd have been on it like a chicken on a june bug.
Same here, Amazon started charging sales tax in CT. So unless the price is really good Adorama, Cameta, or B&H are better....
Of course, by law you are required to pay your state an equivalent "use tax" for mail order items where sales tax isn't collected. Compliance is a mater between you and your state department of revenue.
I'm not sure I'd want to be notified of lighting deals directly. That could get expensive.
In my area the "use tax" is 4% which is much easier to swallow than 10%. It all adds up over time.
