Digital Zoom or Ex. Tele Conv on a G3? What's the Difference?

hi, if you set a button for teleconvert on the g7 and g80 ,the display button then brings up the size settings, which you scroll through with the dials (while seeing it zooming).three actions ,so not too bothersome. Hope this works on yours.

You can achieve this with a single button. Turn on Ex Tele Convert in the menus and leave it on. Set a button for picture size. If you select picture size L (Large) then Ex Tele Convert is off, select picture size M (Medium) and Ex Tele Convert gives you x1.4, select size S (Small) and Ex Tele Convert gives you x2.

Easy and quick.

I use Ex TC most often in video mode, as you don’t really have the option of cropping in video.

Thanks for this tip on the picture size. That solved the problem I had getting it to work for photos.

The Ex Teleconverter and Digital Zoom features works great with the x1.4 for videos.


According to the Panasonic rep, these crop ins don't affect the video ability.

But it does change the resolution of the photos.
