High-level changes:

3.4
---
"This version include a new core implementation to manage maintenance tools, especially to support better multi-threading and multi-core CPU to speed-up processing."

3.3
---
"This version include a new core implementation to manage faces, especially face recognition feature which have never been completed with previous release."

I've found this an impressive piece of software for free. Currently I find the batch processes (e.g. apply xyz metadata to selected photos) lacking.

I was on their site last night, and, missed it or forgot to refresh. I've used it on Linux, but, with a new W8 computer and being able to access my LR plugins through other windows programs has made Digikam my main photo program. Thanks for posting.

Yes, it is full of tools to do almost everything. It takes a while to discover it all. I use it for managing my whole process from import to uploading. As it integrates directly with Gimp, Hugin, Raw Therapy etc..
