One year ago the Black Friday on Amazon (amazon.it in my case) was pretty interesting for Sony users. Full frame, APS-C and also the 1" cameras, they had some decent offer on pretty much all the lineup. Nothing really worth remembering for m43, let's hope this year we get more luck...

when do the pre-BlkFri sales start?

only thing I've heard about is Target, which is not a big photo hear supply house...

I don't have any info on possible deals, but I'm really banking on something good from Panasonic. I may wind up being disappointed, but time will tell. I saw last month that gx9 was discounted $100. I'm really hoping they drop it even more for black Friday and or pre-xmas. I'd also bite on a discounted gx85. I have Olympus, but I want to see how Panasonic performs. Fingers crossed!

My 10 year old Best Buy closes today (Clay, NY), so I went yesterday (looking for sales and wondering if they ever started carrying m43). They still do not carry any m43. They had a Sony 6100 (none left, but I read the price tag) and Canon M50, which was pretty nice. Noticed it has a microphone input but I could not get its cover off.

I'm surprised we haven't seen more from B&H about their Black Friday sale yet. I know they have a holiday page up now but I figured their be a separate list of BF specific deals.

When do Black Friday sales typically get announced? I'm considering getting something from B&H and shipping it to NZ... not sure I want to end up hitting the Xmas shipping pile up though.

Many of the stores started Black Friday specials last weekend (November 1st). Most are not releasing all the specials yet, starting a roll-out process. So far I have hit Lowes (washer/dryer) and Newegg (ssd's are very cheap at black Friday this year). I saw Amazon was starting rolling black Friday special last night.

Stores know customers only have so much money to spend, so they are rolling out high ticket items early to get their money early.

I was just thinking today that it is almost time for another 20% coupon for the refurb store. I think last year they did it right around black Friday.

Me too but it's so darn expensive...if my DSLR lenses were Nikon instead of Canon, I'd buy a new $500 DSLR body instead. But I have Canon, so I'm stuck with SL2, Ti7, or monstrous D80 as my alternatives (sensor not noticeably better than GX9's).
I think Nikon 5600 even has a microphone input that the GX9 lacks.

I am hoping for a sale on the Panasonic GX9.

PS I hope it will be a decent upgrade on my GX7.

Panasonic gx85 with 2 lenses and a couple of accessories for just under $500 seems like a really good deal. I'm probably gonna snatch one up! They all come with the possibility of extending the warranty from 1 to 3 years. Any reason why I shouldn't get one?

I think Panny is giving the 3 years for free currently...saw it offered elsewhere for free.

On amazon.it since a few minutes, Sony A7 ii at 1150euros, minus 150euros cashback. It looks pretty similar to the recent offer in the US, I pulled the trigger, with a Sony 50mm f1.8.
