I have not posted in a while but came across some info that I felt worth sharing. It regards a recent article in Ars Technica regarding a a particularly dangerous ransomware strain. I won't attach any links but searching the "Risk Assessment" section of Ars Technica site should bring it right up.

The article is worth reading. Also, the piece contains an embedded link to the original Reddit thread having up-do date info, including a detailed list of file extensions that get encrypted by this ransomware.

These file extensions include, .jpg, .nef, .dng, .tif and other image files important to photographers. I hope this is of use in alerting readers to a particularly nasty bug that's emerging. I also thank readers for all of the knowledge, insight and experience on ยต4/3 that gets shared on this site.
