With the pandemic, I have spent more time photographing in nearby parks and natural areas, and less time photographing cityscapes and streets and riding crowded buses as I usually do. I did try to photograph College St in Toronto during the summer, when the pandemic wasn't at its peak but my heart wasn't really into at all, I'm not sure why.

A forest does allow me to practice hand-holding and make use of the IS of E-M1 II + 12-100mm. Most shots were around 1/3 second or 1/4 second for me, so it did push the IS to the limit for me, some shots took more than one try, but for a few I forgot to check the sharpness before I moved on and brought home no usable attempt. Still, the C-7070WZ would have forced me to use a tripod, and it doesn't have enough dynamic range for this kind of photos anyways.

I also wanted to practice using telephoto and selective focus more and I got some opportunities for that here as well. I made a conscious choice to use F4 only to have more blur in a forest scene and take advantage of 12-100's surprisingly nice bokeh. Maybe F4 was the only choice anyway due to the long shutter speeds, unless I want to go above ISO 150.

Photos shot RAW and processed with Capture One Pro. I had to clone out some stuff that people had thrown about the forest. There were some shots I really liked but I couldn't use at all due to the garbage. I tried watch for it and avoid at the time I shot to but some I failed to notice. It can't help but wonder how a pandemic can kept under control when people care so little about other people or the world.

Btw, apologies if the exifs are stripped from these resized versions of the files by Zenfolio. I will add them under each image if you guys want. I was planning to make a new Flickr account just for my landscape/nature photos, but Flickr doesn't let allow formerly-used email addresses for new accounts. The email I want to use is no longer used by my current Flickr account, but it is not available for new accounts. If it weren't for Flickr and their weird rules, it would easy to link to all the exif info, and their website would get more traffic too.
