    I can actually see when traveling this would be a very useful tool for landscapes and buildings.

    It never hurts to have knowledge of other techniques and this one seems to be pretty straight forward to capture out in the field. I've not tried it yet, but might do so some time in the future.

    Hmm this is exactly what DeepSkyStacker is doing... DSS also has a sub-pixel drizzle demosaic stacking method, might have to try that again handheld with daylight images. I previously tried with tripod shots, but didn't get much improvement. The article seems to suggest that the shifts induced by hand motion is the key!
