Crdome and Harvey's Top Secret Travels

Back in late February, @Crdome notified me that I would be blessed by his presence once again (possibly to be a yearly tradition). I did some mad scrambling, filled out all the necessary paperwork, and I was able to get the needed security clearance for @Crdome to visit the mythical Voodoo Tree. It was very cold the day we went out, and the wind was brutal. It was also a very cloudy and flat day.

My first stop was the Big Old Chunk of Iron Ore. I attached a few hard drive magnets to honor it's ferrousness.

Next up was a short cold hike to the Voodoo Tree.

The Voodoo Tree is a very mysterious and powerful artefact, who’s power is exceeded only by it's mystery...

It is a tree on a top secret local mountain bike trail. The first Voodoo Tree was started by a mountain biker who rode a Voodoo brand mountain bike. The original tree had mostly junk found in the area hanging on it. The area (like much of the public land) has been a historic dumping site for garbage. This tree lasted about 10 years, but it was a little too close to a road and some knuckle dragger pushed it over with a vehicle. This second tree was established after the first perished and it has a lot of stuff brought in by individuals.

Yes it was February. Time to escape Indiana's soul-sucking absence of light. @Harvey Melvin Richards had promised if I returned this year, he would provide a life-altering experience. I hopped in my car,peddled down, and headed west. Upon arrival I was handed a cup of coffee and we embarked upon our quest.

Driving through town I spotted a cool tool store with a humorous presentation. Sadly Harvey explained the applications were functionally holding the building together, rather than decorative.

We departed the Voodoo Tree and drove around looking for another subject. Off to the south there is an abandoned pump building. I have taken it's photo from the road, but never ventured into it.

After our adventures we went out for dinner, then that evening @Crdome shared a nice bottle of wine that he had brought along with my wife and I. I decided to stage a few photos the following day while Michael was journeying across the wild west of Nevada. The 1776 is the alcohol content, 17.76%.
