A few months back, @Web-Betty wrote
If @Crdome ever messages you and says "I'm coming to visit, let's go on a photowalk," do it!
So when @Crdome sent me a note that he would be in New York over the holidays, I jumped at the chance to shoot some pictures with him. We met up at Black Brick, a local coffee shop in Williamsburg, the epicenter of Brooklyn hipster cool.

From there we took a stroll down Bedford Avenue, the main Williamsburg drag, where we came across this assortment of items in an empty lot. I'm still not exactly sure if it was an art project, a protest, or something else.

We then decided we would take the subway to Bushwick, a still-gentrifying neighborhood featuring a mix of industrial factories, artist lofts, dive bars, housing projects, and a vibrant immigrant enclave.

I caught this gentleman feeding pigeons directly out of his apartment window. He didn't seem to mind the little guy sitting on his head.

There was a market in an empty lot earlier that day, but by the time we got there in the late afternoon all the vendors had left except for this young couple who were warming themselves by the fire. He was displaying his work in an old, scavenged trailer. I was rather taken with "Butt Chug" the artwork hanging at lower-right, but the $300 million price tag was a little out of my range.

By this time it was getting dark and very cold. So before heading back we finished up with more coffee at another local shop, Variety on Wyckoff.

It was a great afternoon, and it was indeed a real pleasure to finally meet Crdome. And I agree with Web-Betty 100%. If you ever get a chance to go on a photowalk with him, just do it.

Thank you @deepaqua. It was such a treat to finally meet after following you, and admiring your work. As I see your postings I already feel humbled.

Deepaqua is certainly more of a romantic and upbeat than me. He starts his adventure with a beautiful steaming coffee with a heart. I with an unmemorable cold brew.

New York is such an amazing place to shoot! I've never found a more visually stimulating environment. There, nearly every surface (both vertical and horizontal) is covered text and images. The amazing juxtapositions offer endless interpretations of their reality.

This is Kamryn. We met her with her boyfriend, the remaining folks from of a popup art show. We chatted a bit and I bought a small small creation of hers. I bought a fun collaged for ten dollars. But the transaction continued as a gift a s she provided a envelope for mailing, a smaller collaged card and a bag with two large sugar cookies. Anil chose the dubious shaped red candy cane, and I the green Xmas tree.

@deepaqua I was quite frustrated after viewing your images. I failed to follow the advice of one of my favorite photographers Nicholas Nixon’s. Roughly quoted “If you don’t like your photographs, you aren’t close enough”. Of the many I didn’t process were the mailbox and especially disappointing was “pidgeon man”. Given my lens had greater reach than yours, it is truly sad.

Regarding the deepaqua/thrash cans photo, you are amazing to photograph. You seem always at ease, and always smiling.

Thanks for taking me about. And thanks for accompanying me to my Williamsburg location. I easily get hopelessly lost.

I know what you mean. So many images taken, so few keepers. One of my resolutions for 2018 is to do a better job of composing in the viewfinder before pressing the shutter.

I loved “ELF”. I plan to revisit mine, but it is a closeup and looses it contextual relationship. Thanks for posting “Beautiful Peace”. Mine’s a close crop of sigh and immediate surroundings. My response to viewing mine, “What the hell is that? Why did I shoot that”?

I encourage all to visit fellow photographers when you travel. Unending friendships develop. This is WildWildWes, a former MFT Forum member, and my first "Amazing Adventure" associate. We met in Brooklyn on August 30, 2013. I shot with him again on this December 22. It was great to catch up again.

That was a great ten minutes viewing, I really enjoyed both lots of work. Anil, I admire your understanding of colour your shots are so vibrant. Chrome, great images also, the nude and rat is a memorable shot, I like the package very much too.

Nice photos.
Brilliant colours in the city.
Makes a fascinating subject.
Havent touched my cameras for ages, but this is inspiring.
Thanksfor that :)
To both @Crdome
And @deepaqua

Thank you all for the kind words.

Michael and I actually took these pictures last year on Christmas Eve. In the intervening 11 months I moved out to Denver. I hadn't looked at these in a while, but viewing them again does make me miss NYC a little. @Crdome hasn't posted in a while, so he may be traveling, but he's a great guy and a wonderful photographer. I do hope he'll make it out to Colorado one day, as I'd love to do another walk out here.
