Coming home from work last weekend, it wasn't like that when I left!

Had to nip into town for a bit of shopping this morning, so popped my TG5 in my pocket, just in case.
Walking from the car park I made a slight detour to visit this stone circle.
It's not a prehistoric one I'm afraid. Every year in Wales a national Eisteddfod is held in a different part of the country and usually a stone circle is erected on part of the site. I don't recall where this originally was, but it's now in a nice location between the supermarkets and the old shops.

Once through the underpass, I emerged alongside the river to see, with apologies to Mr. Wordsworth, not exactly a host of golden daffodils.

Crossing the bridge to enter the main shopping street, I was almost knocked down with the amount of people out despite the lockdown. ;)

This time of year is when the rugby internationals start, which brings out the national instincts. Here in Wales, the dragon is the main emblem and despite being closed, one shop owner decided to brighten up his window display.

However, the most poignant thing I saw was this message, written on an old mirror in this charity shop window.
The Paul Sartori Foundation was set up forty years or so ago, in memory of the local Catholic Priest, who died from cancer at a young age.
It's aim was, and is, to provide hospice and at-home relief for terminally ill patients. It is totally self-funded and has a dozen or so shops around the county. Like many other charities, it has lost huge amounts of income from all the shops being closed during the pandemic. Thankfully, donations, mostly from deceased families, have enabled it to carry on its work, as highlighted by the message on the mirror.
( I hope you can read it OK - it was difficult getting a shot with both mirror and window reflections to contend with - and no polariser  ).

This morning, Auckland NZ.
Covid free. No virus in the community.
When we were told to stay home for three months, that’s what we did... It worked.

Same here in Victoria.

Our outbreak started with just 5 people in quarantine. Ended with many thousands of cases, and over 800 people dead. You're a long time dead ...

After about 3 months of pretty hard lockdown, we have close to zero community transmission and just a few cases in quarantine.

It's hard, but it works.

I stay inside most of the time, working during the week and doing some house-improvement during the weekends.

A look out of the home-office window:

That's a nice view! My home office is in the basement, so that's where I've been sitting going on a year now...

(Not completely true. In the summer I often moved out with the laptop into the garden.)

This spot is a couple of miles from our house. We get up here at least once a week. Pup found a nice dead deer to roll in. So she got hosed when we got home. btw, that's an eagle

Auch, that doesn't make it easier to work from home.

That sounds like an excellent idea. I am yearning for some good weather and the freedom to go wherever we like and whenever we want.

Just when you start to think they are truly domesticated, they start acting “wolfy” again.

So when the wind blows in through the straight onto your bluff, how much do you have to lean into it? Do you get any of that 60-100 mph stuff over there on San Juan?

Just another day working on the covid frontline, just before I tested positive myself.

Yeah, in the exposed areas at the South End. We are in the lee of the hill so it mostly blows over us. You can hear the roar. The worst for us is a Nor'easter (Fraser River outflow) but the last really bad one was thirty years ago...

This is what I've been up to, during lockdown/travel restrictions. All within about 20-30 minutes max drive from our house. Or a short bike ride. Too much snow in this thread for my comfort :)
