I wonder if CV joining m43 might mean a digital rangefinder in the style of a Bessa R with an m43 mount.

I would love a rangefinder digital camera with fully manual controls it would be amazing.

I'd even like it if they left the screen off of it, make it exactly like an R4.

A man can dream. A cheap digital rangefinder for the masses.

Cheap... until you tack on a $1000 lens.

A company could make an add-on optical viewfinder/rangefinder Adapter for Nikon S-Mount or Contax RF Mount for the EP2 and EP1. The Helical is calibrated by rotation, drive a gear chain for the RF mechanism. The back-focus is big enough to house the mechanism in the adapter to the body. It would look something like a Summaron with Eyes.

Yucky but it would work.
What we really need is the M9 to be at $1500.00.....

Cosina already made that DRF. It was sold as the Epson RD1

Prepare to pay the premium for a excellent S/H body.

Don't tell me nobody knew that?

I had and loved the Rd1-s. After a year and a half, I finally surrendered to the fact that the rangefinder was not that great.
I sold it but missed it for a long time.
The images are outstanding from that camera.
6 MP but beautiful.....

This is true and if Cosina did, the rangefinder would have been better.

amen!

i have 2 rd1 bodies...one is in japan, getting a complete overhaul by epson and the other is right next to me...just got an alignment adjustment to both h & v and now we're ready to play.

There's something very organic about them.
I miss that camera dearly.

What are they charging you for the overhaul?
I may do one again...

i sent it to someone in japan who does all the arranging, dropping off, picking up and shipping back to me and they charge a small fee. epson caps the $$ amount so it won't get to be a crazy amount.

if i have it figured right, all together, it should be less than $300. usd.
i can keep ya posted...
