Every once in a while, I use my personal cameras to record official events at work to supplement the Communications folks. As I knew from previous experience with my 35mm systems, evaluative metering (any maker) tends to fall down in moderate to dim corporate lighting (shielded overhead flourescents, dark coloring on partitions and carpeting, making for an overall low reflectivity setting). So for those of you contemplating Oly MFT use in this setting, consider the following:

    • ISO-A so your not fussing with one more setting
    • Normal spot (not Hi or Lo) to get the reflectivity directly off the subject's face
    • Use the AF sensor only and coincide with the spot meter

I miss my other systems that let me slave the spot to the active AF sensor, so coinciding the two makes it easier to ensure lock-on to the exact subject of interest.
