Cool wooden lens lamp

    It's very cool. I wouldn't pay that much for it, but that says more about me than its intrinsic value.

    Not sure if I would want the original Nikkor version for $2k or the wooden one for 1/3rd of that price. Pretty freaking cool!

    Nice idea, but too expensive for me.
    I think I'll try to convert one of the cheap mugs that imitate lenses (~£10 each). With an LED lamp the plastic will work OK, whilst an ordinary Tungsten lamp might not be cool enough. mug example
    Shame the white balance of LEDs can be somewhat dodgy, a set of lens lamps would be fun in my studio.

    Hmm ... idea!
    No real reason to imitate a lens, I'll just rip the glass out of one and stick in a bulb ... already made plenty of lamps ...
