Continuous lighting

    I just put a post up on the blog about continuous lighting using fluorescent lights (like Peter Hurley use, but an homemade cheap version). It's in french but there is a translator on the left side of the page (3rd sliding drawer). Unfortunately, the video won't translate :p

    Basically, I'm using T8 bulbs with electronic ballasts which eliminates the flickering and I'm using day balance lights. You can use them for video or photo (the video was filmed with that). It gives a nice soft light perfect for headshots. Here are some pictures taken with this setup.

    Thanks for taking time to share your techniques with us! I think it works exceptionally well in the first two shots you posted in this thread. :thumbup:

    The cat's eyes look gets a little eerie for me though... :wink:

    Good stuff. Thanks. I recall spending a lot of time with hot lights, then strobe. The future could be right where you are; cool and steady. LED developments come to mind and is something to explore.
