Well done! I didn’t even know about this comet. But now I’ll be out early this Thursday morning hopefully getting a few shots.
Thanks and good luck!

NEOWISE should be now at its highest brightness. From this weekend for the next two weeks it will be highest above horizont for northern hemisphere observers and at least until end of July it should be nice photographic target.

I’ve never tried to photograph a comet before...any suggestions on the settings?

My base shot was at f/2, 2 seconds at ISO 200 and then comet was enhanced using 30 stacked images at 5 seconds at ISO200. Those were taken using minitrack LX2 as comet would be motion blurred without it.
But comet was already nicely visible in the base shot.

Thanks for the info! I’ll have to see what I can pull off without a tracker. The one I’ve decided on is on backorder.

Whelp, here’s my attempt at NEOWISE with no tracker. SOOC JPGs as I’m away from home. Hopefully these will touch up and become somewhat respectable.

Oh my that's awful. So much for the 'advantage' of moving from a tiny camera screen to a tiny cellphone to the world :cautious: I'll pop up an in-focus replacement later today..

- - - - or maybe right now! GX7 and Sigma 60/2.8

Many other shots with ePL8 and D600, most of them were too much telephoto =blur even with short exposures.
