Taken with EP-2, Carl Zeiss f2.8 Distagon
nice shots, pp and subjects!
I'm going to give a little critique because I really like these
The first one is beaufitul - very simple and effective composition that gives the viewer time to study the subject. Love the tones and the monotone conversion works a treat.
The subject of the second one is fantastic, but I feel that it would be a more effective composition if it wasn't so compressed - ie. if there was a bit more room around the subject. Also, it feels like the bottom has been chopped off (I find myself wondering where the reflection goes...)
The third one (I think) is unnecessary. It doesn't give the overall perspective on the subject that #2 gives, but it's not close enough to be relevant in it's own right.
As I said though, gorgeous work and I'd love to see some more
nickthetasmaniac, thanks for your critique. The series is still in work in progress.
I think the third one shows the low-tech, classic approach to a syphon coffee maker when you use a liquid gas burner. It goes well with the overall post processing and the art design of the 90 degree angle of the arm in photo number 2.
I also like the circular grain in the table that you can see on the 3rd image
Oh plus I'm a major coffee nut, that helps too
I liked them a lot (especially #1) and nick's comment on #2 is exactly what I thought when I saw it too.
You've forgotten the following:
-Kodak T-Max 400
Just kidding Stunning shots though!
