Are there any m4/3 shooters in the Columbia, MD area? I would be interested in meeting members for informal shoot togethers, or even a possible m4/3 photography club. I know the brick and mortar clubs are a dying breed, but I still like them when I can find them

Swampy, I posted to your introduction thread and will add some info here:
The Central Maryland Photog's Guild meets at the Marriottsvile Presby Church on the 3rd Wednesday evening of each month. There are lots of us in the area, so your idea of shoot-togethers is alive and well in the vicinity.

    Stay in touch,

    I miss Towson :crying:

My wife made me move to Columbia, something about her family living there and being happy(sigh).

I lived in Parkville...any of you get out to Cromwell Valley Park and shoot the Frog Pond? This time of year all the eggs are in the water. It is great fun going back and watching the progression to frogs

I am pretty busy with getting my place in Rehoboth ready for summer, but let's see what the interest level is for something around the last weekend of April.

If any are interested respond and make some suggestions on location.

I live right on the edge of Columbia. I am planning on doing some hiking or biking trips through Patapsco park this summer. There are many great photo opportunities in and around the park, river, and Ellicott City.

Let me know if you do set something up.

    "I lived in Parkville..."

Small world. I spent my first 23 years in Parkville and then moved to Columbia (and now next door in Ellicott City).

Mind getting my place in Fenwick Island ready while you're down there?

Maybe we should have an Ocean City/Rehoboth Beach meetup this summer...

Every year from about ealry May to early June the Horseshoe crabs spawn. This also coincides with the shore bird migration. Delaware is one of the largest gathering of shore bird migrations in the US. As such there is always a lot of activity during this time. I have gone to Prime Hook for the migration. It is a small rocky shoreline area that otherwise isn't much to look at. If you are interested in shore birds, Bombay Hook, a little further north up Rt 1 is a great area for that. But take a long lens. There are some nice excluded areas that feature Nesting Herons and you can get a little closer there.
