    Hi guys,

I just registered a couple of hours ago. Im Gid Ferrer and Im from the Philippines. I used to have a Nikon system then quit photography only to realize I missed it so much so I got this little gem, the EM5. Its such a wonderful tool even for a landscaper such as myself. Let me share to you my takes with this small camera. Hope I am allowed to share many photos in one thead (pls let me know if Im not). Im posting new and old images. Thank you for viewing.

Fantastic images Gid. Can I ask what filters you're using for the IR shots.

Hi guys. Im using a Hoya R72 filter. Sometimes I use a 6 stop ND then put the IR filter on top of it to get a longer shutter speed for the moving clouds effect. For the colored images, my filters include 3,6,9 stop ND, Singhray NDGrads, and Polarizer.

Thanks. I have the same filter. I haven't used it yet on the E-M5 but could never get nice colour IR out of it on the GH2.

Can I ask a follow up question as to what whitebalance technique and post processing methods you're using with the E-M5/R72 combo? The results are very nice indeed.

WB is set at 2000k. The EM5 is the only camera that I have used that has this option. Sweet!

    Open Image on Photoshop

    - Channel Mixer just invert the red and blue values. (0-100)
    - Increase saturation to pop out the yellow channel

    Very, very nice!

What lenses do you use? I recently sold my Canon 30D (infrared converted), because it didn't get quite enough use, and keeping Canon gear just for that purpose didn't seem useful. So I'm pondering simply getting an IR filter to use, but I can't really find good info on what lenses work well (no hotspots) with an IR filter.

As an aside for folks interested in post-processing files, watch some of the demos at lifepixel.com - short videos, easy step by step adjustment of various images.

Im using the M.zuiko 9-18. Depending on the suns angle, i sometime get images with a really big hotpot smack in the middle. I just remove them when editing. The 12-50 have hotspot as well.

My first landscape image using filters with the EM5. This image was over exposed and the rays were blow out. I did a recovery while RAW editing and was surprised to see the colors and rays data were brought back.
