NCAA allows team photographers use flashes. Coaches + player love well lit photos.

I doubt the coach and players like it. No one wants a flash in their face when they are going for a lay up. Then all they see is a blue white blotch in their eye, until the flash effect wears off. And if they miss the lay up, because they could not see after the flash went off in their face?

If the NCAA allows it, so be it.

Key is off camera lighting. Four strobes need to mount toward corners or catwalk. NCAA rule specifies strobe placement ... none of the strobe can be placed past the baseline. So players can't see the light during play.
