    This is the first I've heard of these. Then again, I try my best to ignore what the rest of the world is doing:

    Tyra Banks makes cinemagrams fashionable: Connect

    I'm posting this because I find them strangely fascinating and because I could see something like this as a reason I might want to occasionally use video. I don't have the patience to make or watch many artistic videos, but this is like an enhanced still and appeals to even my short attention span. And yes, I could see myself being interested even if the pictures were not of beautiful women.

    Gimmicky. And that's why they'll work on the social networks.

    I think some of the cinemagraphs out there, especially those with more subtle movement, can be really interesting and a little spooky.

    It's certainly easy to make them gimmicky. Still, I think subtle effects like a breeze through a tree would be appealing.
