I am in that point in life where I do not know if i want to proceed with more effort into building cliental or just keeping it as a hobby and when paid work comes, it comes. At any rate, i currently use two bodies, em-1 and em-5. 12-40 , 75 & 25mm lenses.

Secondly, my flash photography skills are lacking. I only have one fl600r flash. no alien bee's etc. I love to use natural light / reflectors when needed. I did not use a flash during this wedding, and i paid for it by having to use upwards of iso 6400 to keep the shutter at or above 1/250.

Thirdly, i made a mistake, i think, using matrix metering instead of center average. The reception was horribly lit under a tent. and the sun on the outside made for some super harsh backlighting. This left the individuals faces/bodies dark while the camera tried to expose for the entire scene. Hindsight always 20/20. And finally. damn, i need some more confidence with flash. Then i could have cross-lit the dance floor in this case , the grass.

    Experience, Thoughts & Hindsights:
    - Batteries, batteries, batteries. . anytime the red showed on the em's i swapped batteries out. went through 4 batteries that day, hardly chimping, only using EVF
    - Learn to use flash, effectively & efficiently
    - Keeping the shutter above 1/250 in darker lit areas (under the tent) resulting in iso 6400 even with 2.8 & 1.4 lenses.
    - Use center weighted average when faced with critical exposure (faces)
    - Always keep spare memory cards
    - Camera straps are a pain when using two bodies , will purchase black rapid back strap in future.
    - would have loved to have a mid to long range zoom for the ceremony, the 25 i had to get too close to the clients and the 75 was too long. the 12-40 was too short on the long end, (this is of course all based off of working area limitations)
    - i wouldn't have minded to have the 42.5 nocticron for 1.2 sake and working distance from clients.
    - I would have used a 17 & 45 at the ceremony and reception no problem, used the 25mm for some shots.
    - I absolutely despise strong backlighting while shooting under shadows............of a tent.
    - it would be great to have dual card slots on the em-1. I shoot RAW+JPEG for the sake of faster workflow. if it does not need a ton of highlight or shadow adjustment, its easy to just export out of lightroom without converting from RAW.

Thank you for listening to me and any critique is greatly appreciated! other weddings & my portfolio can be found here --> My portfolio And other WeddingsThe bride liked "film" look, her wedding was circus / old school theme, crazy colors. So most of the images do have vsco treatments.
