I was first introduced to the mu-43 format camera at an Olympus exhibit at the SCUBA diving activity center at the National Boy Scout Jamboree early this month. Although I have been an avid amateur photographer for more than forty years; during that time, I used Nikon gear and a Leica CL.

I have embraced the digital era, using an Olympus and Lumix PHD cameras. Last week, I wondered if the M-mount lenses from my Leica CL could be used on any digital camera, and I discovered the mu-43 format had that capability. Although I received a discount code for an Olympus camera at the jamboree, I have been leaning heavily toward the Lumix GF1. I'm looking forward to learning more about lens adapters and options.

Carl, thanks for your introduction and welcome. I know you'll find many opinions here, as well as great factual information too. Perhaps you might want to start a thread in the This or That forum if you're trying to compare cameras?

Thanks for becoming a member here.
