Hope this is the good subforum.
I made some pics of my guitar ,but I can't get the good colours , the body is to bright red and the pickuard is to white , also I mis a lotof detail , the bodie is a little worn with a bit of seethrough wood grain. How can I get this better? Thanks Henk.
    I use a E-M5 with the 14-150.

Bring it to a good light and shoot at base ISO rather than ISO 1600.

Brighter lens, art-filter bracket using Standard, Vivid, natural, whatever the heck they have this week,
    and
    white balance bracket.

    Yes your camera does that.

White balance bracket 3 by 3 : 9 frames of reddy goodness, pick the best.

Make sure you only have one type of light source (don't mix sunlight and fluorescent, for example).
Then, shoot RAW and adjust the color balance in your RAW processor.

    That's good advice.

However, If you prefer JPEG, you can do custom white balance with a white piece of paper before hand, too. If color accuracy is vital, a grey card or color chart shot is often a good route as a reference point to color matching.

I *think* the photo's overexposed a little - pickguard too white and red colour too weak suggest the guitar's too "hot" in the picture.
The rest of the background is dark, the camera's exposing the whole image not just the bit you're interested in :)

Take the guitar somewhere with better light, and dial the exposure compensation down a little (-2/3eV or so).
Also you could spot meter the guitar instead of matrix metering the whole scene ;)

Hendrix you've posted plenty in the thread, nice images, but nowhere do I see the bit where you tell us which Jpeg mode or which RAW processing you are using.

I shoot in RAW and using Paintshop Pro.
