Bought this camera as travel camera when not on photo journeys. Just came back from the first trip. Was one week in Greece using only the G7X.

It's pocketable, fits most pants pockets. Not too heavy, battery life is better than expected regarding all reviews. Good to shot with except for the smallish back interface, two times I accidentaly changed ISO and the scrool wheel is not so nice either. But it's possible to get some real nice shots, the fast lens makes it suitable for shooting dark streets and such, was surprised of how good it worked. In general the noise level is a little higher comparing to a m4/3 body and the lens is not perfect all the time, a little soft in the edges sometimes. But as a compromise for getting 24-100mm f/1.8-2.8 in a pocket I think I can live with that. Good complement for eg when birding with a tele zoom on a m4/3 body and this can take care of the occasional normal range snapshots.

Enough talk, here is some photos! :)

Greece 1/7 - Acheron River (Springs):
Fantastic cool place where a river comes from the mountains and flows through spectacular landscape out in the sea and you can follow it whole way. We went to the springs area and explored upstreams. This time of year the water is so shallow so it was possible to walk mostly.

This time I packed my bicycle and went on touring on Swedish west coast from Gothenburg to Malmö. Along Kattegattleden to Helsingborg and then improvised along the coast to Malmö. It was 504km in total, took almost 30 hours in the saddle, not the shortest/fastest way but a very nice way! The coast is fantastic all the way down. I slept in tent three nights and had packed food and stuff to get there without buying something. It was a joy, felt better than I thought it would, was boring to get home again. It took like three days to get there, but it took only three hours to get home by train. Didn't had time to bike home. But I will sure do some touring again, it was a great experience!

Here is a few photos (there is a total of 30 in my Flickr album)

Trip to Portugal last week. We stayed in Cascais and went also to Lisbon and Sintra. So much nice to see everywhere. Lisbon is a very beautiful city. Sintra is an awesome place where you can walk around a few days and still not be really satisfied :) definitely one of my top ten trips.

I use the G7 much at the wide end (24mm) but it is a little soft in the edges there, can be a little frustrating sometimes when PP and you see the softness there but otherwise I really enjoyed having this camera as only travel companion on these trips, in a pocket or a small bag compartment.

Very nice pics Danny. I recently (within the past year) picked up a Sony RX100M4 to use as my casual travel camera. I used to bring my GH4 and 12-35 with me, but the RX100M4 literally does everything the GH4/12-35 did. Same zoom range and speed, EVF for sunny days, front-facing LCD for travel "selfies", fantastic video quality. But instead of brining along a small camera bag, I can just throw the camera in my pants pocket.

These 1" cameras with fast lenses are really nice travel cameras if you don't feel like bringing along multiple lenses. I went Sony over Canon because of the EVF and video quality, but the G7X II is a very good camera as well.
