    Hey guys,

I just got the FL 50 1.4 from ebay and was wondering how this lens compares to the FD 50 1.4 SSC? It seems like everyone goes for the FD SSC...

In addition, does anyone know if this Fotodiox adapter will work for this lens?

SSC has better coatings. The FL has the aperture ring on the front, which I prefer with my FL 55.

There are 2 Canon 50mm f1.4 FLs.The original has a slightly different optical formula, the 50mm F1.4 II is the identical optical formula to the later FD lens only it has different coatings. I too prefer the position of the FL series aperture ring, I actually think it is a more durable design, I run into a lot of FD series lenses with aperture ring problems.
