Can't find a thread for this large slugger on here, so I'll make one in stead. Towards the end of November 2012 I purchased an EX+ condition Canon FDn 500mm f4.5L from Keh.com. It's completely clean, comes with the original hard carrying case (and keys, most likely never used), lens caps (including the front "sock") as well as a strap (obviously never used before) and instruction manual.

I have only used this on my E-M5, and it does handle slightly awkward with that body, so it's best to use a monopod or some other improvised means of stabilization, that said, the E-M5's 5-axis IBIS does a good job, especially for aiding composition.

Now, enough with the equipment porn, over to what I have been able to get out of it so far...

    It does have nice bokeh

I wanted a fast shutter speed, and it's not much light up here in Norway this time of year, so this was taken at very high ISO:

I actually saw this lens on KEH.com and wish I had the money to buy it since I have 6 Canon FD bodies. It looks like from the pictures it is sharp and has nice contrast. Enjoy the lens!

Now that's the kind of shot I want to do with my camera. I love taking shots of the moon, but they never come out this good. I also want to try Saturn.

Another one, I see I missed focus slightly here, also against very bright light:

How is the CA on this lens? I have the 400mm f/4.5 and it suffers really bad from CA in bright light.

I recently got an OM-D EM10 and have been using it with my old Canon FD lenses - the 300 2.8L and the 500. Here's a few shots from a recent trip to a nearby bird sanctuary:

    i-9VmfTQF-XL.

    i-rptBQDQ-XL.

    i-4GdV89z-L.

    i-zb5jBT7-XL.

Most of these were at around f5.6. It was slightly windy that day which *really* showed up the shortcomings of my cheap eBay gimbal, so I have a proper one on order...

Another quick one to keep the thread alive :)
    20160410-P4101601_usm.

Another Marsh Wren. f5.6, 1/1000, at a range of about 15 metres. I now have a Jobu Jr 3 gimbal which is *infinitely* superior to the cheap ebay thing I had earlier :)
