I hope, it falls in the category of this forum. I think i have made up my mind on getting EPL-7, but a quick search on ebay has left me scratching my head.. Especially these 2 deals! Same seller, two different listing, similar set of accessories, but one is going for 618$ and other one is going for 742$!
Can anybody please clear out what's going on :(

The more expensive one keeps mentioning that the lens is a pancake, while the cheaper one doesn't say that.

Thanks guys. I also saw that expensive listing mentions pancake lens, but didn't give much importance to it. Think i'll go for the cheaper one :)

Probably a good call. While the 14-42 pancake is more compact, it's supposedly not optically great. Certainly hasn't received the praises of the Panasonic 12-32 pancake.

i checked the E-P5 also. Unfortunately don't have the money to buy a E-P5 with a zoom lens. Even 618$ for EPL-7 is kinda over the budget for me.

You can pick used EP5 body for under $400 and 12-32mm lens for around $200 or less

    1. Here, on this forum - because sellers here do not pay 10%+ fees to ebay or Amazon.
    2. ebay, recent sold auctions http://www.ebay.com/sch/Digital-Cam...H_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&_nkw=olympus+e-p5+body
    3. You may also get VF4 and 17mm lens combo and turn lens and VF back on ebay or Amazon - this how I got my EP5 body for $380 last February (and 12-32mm for $150).

Didn't understand the 3rd point of your post about VF4 and 17mm lens! Can you clear it out. I'm getting interested in the used E-P5. Thing is i think this is the only way i can buy cam from online. I checked with my country's customs, they told me that they'll charge 400$ on a 600$ camera. I was like WT... If i buy used i think they'll help me in declaring the price of the product down,so that customs doesn't charge me my house! And I'll keep an eye on any used listing of E-P5 here and in eBay. Any other place you suggest? A veteran told me i should also get the VF-4,if i get EPL-7,i think that should be true for E-P5 too. What do you think?

I've bought EP5+17mm+VF4 here on forum for $900. Then I sold VF4 ($200) and 17mm ($390) on Amazon. So, after shipping expenses and seller fees my EP5 body cost resulted in $380.
That was last February and EP5 body was trading around $650, now prices dropped to around $400 (see my ebay link).

I'm not familiar with customs, but I think your best strategy will be to negotiate with private sellers to ship camera as "gift" rather than merchandise, as gifts are exempted up to around $1000.

PS: yeah, I would agree that VF4 is nice - I had it before EP5 and use it almost 100% time.

PPS: http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/ is another place for private sellers

I'm looking for a used E-P5. There's a deal on ebay going on, but this import duty headache is killing me. I asked him if he can declare it as a gift, he said he certainly can, but there's a chance that they'll open it then they'll charge higher. I know you also don't know much about it. but this import duty... grrr. Anyways can you suggest me a good cheap native prime? i have a Canon Fd 50/1.8. I'll buy the adapter when i buy the body.

The deal ran out before i could open the link :(

Even with declaring as gift, sender should specify the content, but gifts should be exempt from import duty - up to the amount specific for your country.
MFT system has tons of native primes and with few exceptions, most are affordable on used market. Sigma's 19mm, 30mm, 60mm are probably best bargains.
Keep watching ebay and forum here and you may pick some good deals.
