Great shot! Is that snow? I'm looking forward to some snow in our neighborhood.
Great shot! It's also refreshing to see a b&w Night shot. Only thing I'm curious about is that the rig is tilted to the left. That's a bit more distortion than what I see on my 12/2. Kudos!
Yeah, that's snow, the rig is a few KMs north of here: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=gran...he,+Division+No.+18,+Alberta,+Canada&t=h&z=13 , so we have more than enough!
Thanks. Definitely some distortion there, I played around in lightroom using the generator housing on the center-left as a horizon marker, and it only changed the angle .08 of a degree. The rig isn't always set up completely vertical, but this one is very close.
Definitely like the B+W.
Very cool night shot.
Great power and atmosphere in this B&W shot, congrats on the capture.
Down here in Texas I noticed many of the rigs lean towards the side of the roustabouts platform. Seems to be to give the drill pipe clearance away from the base of the derrick.
Nice shot well done!
What about one of those rigs in your back yard?$$$
