    Hello world!

I went to Canada recently for a work conference and I thought... since I've travelled all the way there (about 24 hours flight from Brunei with transit in Hong Kong) might as well stay longer and visit the majestic Canadian Rockies.

I used the Olympus E-M5ii with mainly the Panasonic 7-14mm and Olympus 12-40mm. Some of the pictures I've uploaded on my instagram @syuketron (shameless plug here lol).

Anyway, here are some of pictures taken during the trip, hope you guys enjoy em :)

Let's start with Vancouver, it's always nice to be high up

Syukri, I can help with a little context for a few of the shots. Picture #5 is an aerial shot of the Stanley Park seawall, a 28km long continuous greenway along the water extending around the downtown core. Picture #6 is an amazing image that really shows the smoke blanketing much of British Columbia from our worst forest fire season in recorded history.
Emerald Lake is actually emerald green when viewed from above. Your first shot of it looking down the log gives a hint of the color. I'm a little envious, haven't been there in many years.
Your sunrise shot of Lake Louise is beautiful!
Looks like you had a great trip and saw a lot of wonderful scenery.

Wonderful shots, they being back memories. My parents and I went on a five week trip through Washington State (US) and and Canada (Banff, Jasper, Vancouver etc) in 1996 and I recognized most places you showed. I want to back so badly and see those landscapes again and, mostly, take new photos as I know so much more about photography now than I did before :) Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

  6. Great set, it looks like a great place to be a photographer.

I am fortunate to live in Calgary so Banff is only 100 miles from my front door. Love your shots, you did an excellent job capturing the beauty. Lucky for you the forest fire smoke didn't ruin your shots. Right now Calgary looks like Beijing, maybe a little worse.

Thanks for the kind words! Yes, I totally get what you mean by how you wish to know about photography now than you did before, I have the same feeling about UK. I studied there for 4 years, but never did I take any photos, I only started my photography journey after I graduated from UK.

Hope you go back to Canada one day and take some amazing pictures! It's a very beautiful country!

That is soooo nice! I like it over there, would like to visit there again! One week is not enough.

Yes, only on the first day we experienced the fire smoke, the rest weren't too bad, there were some fog, but most cleared out by morning, only to come back during sunset.

I drove from NYC, across and through Canada, on the way to the Yukon and Alaska back in 78... you rekindled fond memories...
Thanks for posting some great images
