Can I interchange the lens hood on the 42.5 f/1.7 and 15 f/1.7?

I found a 15 f1.7 for sale on CL but it does not have the lens hood or plastic ring. I was wondering if I could use the one from my 42.5 f/1.7?

I doubt it. A proper hood designed to shade a telephoto (42.5mm) should at least vignette if not partially block a wide angle (15mm) lens...

Makes perfect sense, can I at least use the plastic ring that goes on when there is no hood?

Also the 42.5 is 37mm filter, the 15 is 46mm, you aren't likely to be able to physically mount the hood.

    I don't think it would fit. 37mm vs 46mm.

15mm does not look bad without the ring.
