Carl, Unfortunately the camel races are over for this season and they start again on October. I don't know if you will be able to see any camels around, the temperature here is already over 40 Celsius in mid day and I'm pretty happy I return to Greece in two days :smile: But Shahaniya is not that far away from Doha so you can just drop by if you have your own car.
... My brother in law works for Al Jezzera so we have transport and a guide. It will be our first visit by the museum of Islamic art, the inland sea as well as markets are all on the agenda. A possible side trip to Oman but not sure on this part as yet. It will certainly be warmer than Scotland
