California countryside is turning golden

    The hills in Northern California are very quickly turning brown. It's amazing; two weeks ago they were still green.

    Taken with the E-M1 and the Panasonic 12-35 or 35-100/2.8s. Trying out different presets, which is why the last two photos have a different color character.

    Is that because of the drought? I would think they would be green in spring.

    No, they turn golden brown about this time in May. We are having a drought, but we got enough rain in March and April to turn them green, at least for a little bit.
