I was sitting at Starbucks, waiting for a fresh pot of Pike to brew. The Christmas display, which seems to show up earlier every year, was a tempting target, but which lens to use? I had 3 in my bag, so I decided to use each of them wide open, as a test of perspective and acuity.

    14/2.5 @ f/2.5

    20/1.7 @ f/1.7

    adapted 55/3.5 micro @ f/3.5

and another with the 55 to show the star of the show.

    Holiday blessings to you all.

That ol' Nikkor geezer of a lens, seems to outshine those young whippersnappers.

The 14 and 20 did just fine, but the 55 micro does hold up pretty well. It's 40 years old, and a good used copy only cost me $100. But I needed to buy an evf to get the best from it.
