Newbie thanks for starting this thread, and postings many photos. You have a wonder sense of aesthetics paired with amazing equipment. Can't beat that combo.
You're going to need that LED, for sure. Manual focusing in near dark environments isn't fun with the 20mm Panny. That said, the results can be amazing.I would hope the focus on the 20/1.7 would be better on the Panny. How is it in manual focus? Often I shoot in near or total darkness, focusing by illuminating the subject with a 2 watt LED.

Crdome, what sort of size is that Cosmicar? How does it handle on µ4/3?
I recently picked up a Fotasy (Fujian?) 35mm f/1.7. Seems like a fun little lens but it flares like crazy.
I was wondering if anyone here has come up with some sort of hood that works. It looks to be a 34mm filter thread, so probably something like this would do the trick, but US$15 or so is a big investment relative to the cost of the lens. Another option would be a 34mm-37mm step-up ring and a 37mm collapsible rubber hood similar to this.
The next thought I had was to just fabricate something. Looking at the diameter of the lens I figured a toilet paper roll tube and some flat black paint might work. I've played around a little with it, and it might work, but the aesthetics leave much to be desired.
Anyway, I'm curious if any of the other bright minds from this forum have come up with anything.
It's a 35.5mm filter thread. I actually use this for my Fujian 35mm, and stuck a 52mm lens cap on it. The hood is always on there, I never have a reason to take it off.
Note though- it helps the flaring quite a bit, but the thing is still pretty prone to flaring.
I like that your tape matches your camera body
Hey DeeJay, from your pic, it looks like the same problem i had (an odd shaped bright ring in the middle of the image) when I got my copy of the Fujian 35mm lens. Wrote back to seller and they confirmed lens was faulty and quickly sent me a replacement. Seller didn't even ask for the faulty lens to be sent back. The replacement copy worked perfectly as it should.
You don't have to live with the problem.
