Why can't there be an option to lock the control buttons on cameras ?

I keep catching the flash button on the E-PL1 with the inside ball of my thumb. It has become quite annoying

If there was an option to have the power button turn the control buttons on and off, with Power OFF being a press & hold, this would solve the problem.

i can't count the number of times I've found myself shooting in some random ISO or with the timer on or some wildly inappropriate WB on my E-P2 ... so yes, I've thought of this too
